No fix election time, till a vote of no confidence or coalition falls a govemt apart. Elections happened as strategic gaming, depends on when will an election favor one"s party. Normally an election is called when it suits the ruling party. A unitary system of government, bc there is only one bunch of govment. The head of the govment is not directly ele by the ppl, however that person has no connection to the ppl. He or she is merely another member of parliament, who happens to be the leader of the political party that won the election. The pm has no individual mandate or source of power, remains in power so long as he has the confidence of the house.
