Private responses to climate change: what"s the story: private vs public actors venues. Difference is not that private actors don(cid:495)t contribute to climate politics. Difference is the acting in the public(cid:495)s interest. )n an ideal world, it will be an empty vessel and the public(cid:495)s interest is what the government will pursue. Every state can essentially be thought of as made up of different sectors public sectors. This means that these actors are supposed to have the public interest. Governments are not supposed to have their own interests. They should be (govs), corporate (economic activity), civil society (community life, citizens e. g. clubs, neighbourhood associations, religious groups, ngos) have interest in pursuing profit. Private actors pursue actions that are in line with their own interests. Civil society is no longer just domestic. Many ngos have principles different from one another.
