There are two sorts: active and passive. It is sometimes thought of as killing vs. letting die. There is another division: voluntary and involuntary. Some people used to think that you could gure out the moral analysis of euthanasia by dividing cases into euthanasia, but this doesn"t seem to be the case. It used to be thought to be in con ict with the principle of non-male cence, but it is now recognized that it can be legitimate. The supreme court ruled in favour of the family. This is a case wherein life-sustaining treatment is refused.
