Probably combination of tomb and gfunerary enclosure of 1st dynasty. 8 parts including sed festival court outside encased with fine limestone rectangular bastions protruding every 4m. 13 with dummy doors only 1 actual entrance. Made three pyramids (1) medium (for father huni?) Begun as step pyramid later transformed into true pyramid. 2 is called bent pyramid almost collapsed, angle changed. Purpose most likely to represent royal presence in provinces. Pyramid = house of the dead kind (complex) Main elements of pyramid complex for the first time. Center of large necropolis of officials and royal family members buried in mastabas in eastern and western cemetery. Almost certainly represented khaefra but facial feautres are unclear. Temple of dyn 4 in front sun worship. Their construction work from 18th dyn onward sphinx came to be embodiment of horus on the horizon. Would have stood against background of two pyramids standing then. All the other built their temples in a moment.
