The work of anthropology is from colonialism as the colonist would control and pacify a region so that a anthropologist could come in and study them. You see patterns not just within cultures but across cultures as they react to stimuli in similar ways. Violence was not seen as a social pathology as something barren or criminal. Today we view acts of violence as pathological and abnormal because we live in a paci ed modern world.
