His ambition was to conquer new land and instill his idea of civilization into the people of those countries he conquered after freeing them. He liked control and organization so he decided to become emperor: david, consecration of emperor napoleon i and coronation of the empress. Napoleon replaced the rulers of the countries he conquered with his own family and friends. He was later exiled to st. helena. He was powerful, he had a huge army and hence the social groups who were against him weren"t interested in fighting.
