Propagation lesion mimic mutant problem stopping signal propagation. Initiation lesion mimic mutant activated without pathogen recognition, but has no problem stopping signal propagation. In both homo and heterozygous mutants, see strong pr expression without pathogen infection. Fragment 94 from mutant induced phenotype mutant has mutation in tir-nbs-lrr gene mutated version inserted in wildtype induced ssi4 phenotype (constitutive pr gene expression) gain of function mutation. Mutant screen to look for constitute negative mutants cannot induce pr expression even after pathogen infection. Treat plant with ina/sa and see which plants don"t turn blue. But if treat with sa or ina before, plant becomes resistant. However, treating with sa or ina has no effect on npr1. This suggests that npr1 gene is working downstream of sa; if upstream, then sa treatment should recover from mutant phenotype and induce pr gene expression. Contained in transcription regulating proteins such as nf-kb and i-kb.
