Most mycenaean sites are from the very end of the late bronze age. Most of those architectural forms, massive sites (tholos tombs, etc), developped very late in the bronze age. Most of what we know about mycenaean society originates with heinrich schliemann. First and most important discoveries at mycenae were shaft graves.
