G = 2 codon bases = u, c. U*g: hydrogen bonds between (u) positions 2 and 3, (g) 1 and 6 respectively. I*c: (i) 1 and 6, (c) 3 and 4. I*u: (i) 1 and 6, (u) 2 and 3. I*a: (i) 1 and 6, (a) 1 and 6. Codons differ in the first 2 bases to be recognised by different trnas = different aas.
