Document Summary

T_t let"s cry (>"-")> if you"re still here it"s too late. Allosteric regulation: atp and glc-6-p inactivates, amp activates. Inhibited by phosphorylation, nadh, atp and acetyl coa. Inhibited by pd kinase, activated by pd phosphatase. Activates glycogen phosphorylase by transferring a po4 group onto it. Uses a free pi to add to the c1 of the o-glycosidic bond. This is a phosphorolysis reaction breaks down tags to dag to mag? (it breaks down fat cells) Protein phosphatase-1 dephosphorylates glycogen phosphorylase to inactive it. Catalyzes reaction in synthesis of glycogen: active glucose added to c4 of the non-reducing end in glycogen. Ser in active site donates po4 to c6. Result: free glucose that can now leave the liver. Generates udp-glucose and ppi from glc-1-p and utp. Note: the entire pathway to turn glucose-6-phosphate to glycogen is as follows: G6p (enzyme phosphoglucomutase) >> g1p + utp (enzyme udp glucose phosphorylase) >> udp-glucose.
