Document Summary

Proteins take up 3d shapes and begin to see how a specific protein function will rely on specific 3d shape/conformation of that protein. Enzymes are good example of proteins with specialized functions. Body relies on thousands of chemical reactions that takes inside cells and tissues and occurs on cell surfaces and within body like fluids such as blood. Enzymes are proteins that catalyzes or accelerate chemical reaction. Luminiscent glow of jelly fish is due to the enzyme that catalyses light. Sometimes effect of enzyme catalyses is obvious such as glow of jellyfish but often results are not obtained directly but they are absolutely essential for life. Metabolism is the total of all the enzyme reactions that break down, modify existing molecules or construct new ones in your body. An example is the breakdown of glucose for energy and synthesis of glucose that helps maintain the blood sugar levels. These reactions occur because of the action of enzymes.
