Document Summary

Lecture 18 jovian planets: moons and rings. Will be sending back awesome pictures of jupiter and its moons. First solar powered probe: cassini is a probe that has been hanging around saturn taking awesome pictures. Like the north pole hexagon of saturn, literally a hexagonally shaped cloud formation/pattern that is huge. Infrared light: too cold for visible light, and ultraviolet is high energy/high temperature, infrared is low energy/low temperature: saturn, uranus. In the image of the graph/types of light, if a line passes through other sections it means that body emits that type of light to a degree. A dense body has a line that peaks to the left after a sharp incline, and a more gradual decrease after the peak. Methane gas absorbs red light and transmits/reflects blue light; why. Io, europa, ganymede, callisto: all roughly around the size of mercury, ganymede is actually larger, callisto has a lot of impact craters; least geologically active.
