Bucharest 1930, modern arch but not in the most radical form. White, but not transparent flat roofs abstract in a more decorative way. Some are more abstract but mostly same atmosphere symmetry in it Tel aviv, 1930s: famous for large number of white buildings. William van alen, chrysler building, new york, 1928-30. Best art deco in north america: ragnar stberg, city hall, stockholm, 1911-23, rich in decorations, very monumental. Erick gunnar asplund, public library, stockholm, 1920-28. Exterior deco telling a story daily life children toys, crib, tennis racket. After designing this sturdy building, he was moving from style to style. Mussolini tried to promote arch transforming his own hometown into much more monumental: giovanni guerrini, palace of italian civilization, rome, 1942. Angiolo mazzoni, post office,littoria, 1932: giuseppe pettazzi, service station, asmara, 1938. Colonies were used for experimental arch: adalberto libera/curzio malaparte, villa malaparte, capri, 1937. Frank lloyd wright, kauffman house (fallingwater), bear run, 1935-38.
