Quid pro quo = a type of harassment when someone"s boss tell they have to sleep with them or else they won"t be promoted. Sexual harassment = anytime someone feels constrained in their activities because of other people"s statements or actions relating to gender or sexuality. Includes peer harassment in school areas, includes different ways people can become uncomfortable. Power over another person is being expressed in sexual and gender terms. There is a power struggle going on, power authority statement is being made over gender and sexuality. Sexual harassment is a serious problem in our culture, is a product/enforcement of sexual terrorism. To remind women that they are women and are subject to male"s commands and demands. Male privilege = men have power, advantage; if two people applying for same position, often there is preference to the man, men are better candidates. Men don"t often think about whether they are safe, don"t worry about hanging out with boss.
