Stonewall: video shown in class of women saying names of indigenous queer/transgendered women who have been murdered but deaths have been ruled as homicide. The repetition of these names imply their importance, by pushing their names into memories + public discourse that would have otherwise gone unidentified. Their bodies are assumed that they belong to groups of racism and violence (from the lecture: "say her name"" same public discourse that took place in 1990"s roughly 30 years ago is happening all over again. There is this saying that " stonewall was a riot, not a wedding"", around the time u. s. legalized same-sex marriages. The issue surrounding health implications, where same-sex spouses were not allowed to be in same room with their partners. There was an incident of a spouse that passed away and the hospital did not recognize her as family, even though they had children together.
