Relapse: where someone has had been diagnosed with substance use disorder but had achieved some sort of abstinence and returned back to their former use. Operant conditioning: a (antecedent, the setup, context for behaviour to take place such as cues) > b (behaviour) > c (consequence). Classical conditioning: operating at a level of making associations quickly without us being necessarily aware of them. For example: ucs (injection of morphine) ucr (euphoria). Environment in inert on its own, but over time if context is paired with this particular pattern, then neutral stimulus can become conditioned stimulus. Drive theory: drug addicted individuals develop drives (motivational states), to achieve a drugs positive reinforcement effects.
