Week #3- lecture #3: tuesday september 20, 2016. Today: recap ethics, norms and basic statistics, don"t forget to complete questionnaires on blackboard by 11:59pm tonight! Breach: because if you have the newer edition, the older edition would be obsolete. There"s a reason for the new edition. When there"s a new edition there is a grace period (however it varies) Guidelines are set to maybe one/two years where you can no longer use the previous edition. Clinical or medical setting they would have a deadline when they would switch over. The publisher or writers don"t decide when the switch is, but they would no longer support the older editions. Not a breach: patients would want the psychologist to be competent. The acknowledge of what the state of knowledge of the psychologist currently is. Limited body of literature that supports the test b/c it"s relatively new. Psychologist"s preference for sth in the old version.
