Fundamental objective in all academic and scientific (and other) writing. Major domains: organization, writing style, bias-free language, grammar. Logical ordering of thoughts and arguments is critical. At level of each sentence, paragraph, and overall document. Helpful to plan out structure of the paper at initial outline stage what do you want to say and how are you going to get there. Optimal length number of pages needed to effectively communicate the primary ideas of the study (cid:858)less is (cid:373)o(cid:396)e(cid:859) Length depends on the journal you are submitting to. Levels of headings establish a hierarchy of sections. Topics of equal importance have same heading level. Ex. heading for method and results should be the same. Avoid having only one subsection heading and subsection within a section, use at least two subsection headings in any given section. Do not label headings with numbers or letters.
