Document Summary

Verbal reasoning/ linguistic ability is not required. Assumption: no cultural factor will affect the results; the test is not culturally biased, better measure of intelligence. The assumption is not completely true, raven"s progressive matrices is not a clean measure. Understanding of cards changes the way you look at the symbols. The solution has to do with the strategy of playing cards. Some languages consisting of symbols may interfere positively/ negatively with the outcome of this test. But there"re tons of culturally biased factors: e. g. language. Example: black kids outperform white kids when the test was written in the language black kids are familiar with. - the importance of the language the test"s written in. It"s controversial whether topics about measuring/ highlight individual difference is worth studying. E. g. if the difference of intelligence between different races really exists. Not to mention there"s a lot confounding information; we"re not sure if the result is accurate. Nature vs. nurture nature & nurture.
