Document Summary

This can be seen when children apply makeup to their face unconsciously and when seen in the mirror, the child touches their face. The looking glass self: we gain an image of our self by seeing how others see us. We try to put our self in other people"s perspective of us: bicultural: people live by two cultural rules. For example, in their household there is a specific set of rules compared to the other rules at other public places. A more direct reflection: a study was conducted where kids were asked to create a drawing. After they finished, they were told to go in a room where there is a big bowl of candy. The child is told to take only one candy: thee are two conditions in this experiment: the first is that there is no mirror. The second condition is that there is a mirror right behind the bowl of candy.
