Document Summary

E. g. fireworks over nigeria falls, how do we know those are fireworks, it is due to past experience or memory of fireworks. When we see the world it is a combination of raw image (bottom up influence) and memory (top down influence) Physical energy in the form of light, sound, etc. (raw info) Once raw info is taken into the brain, it gets interpreted. Touch is from sensory strip and the taste/smell is very primitive and close to the midbrain, there is association cortex around these areas. There is light energy in the world and the energy takes on frequency. Humans can only see a small spectrum (400-700 nanometers) Many things that humans cannot see or hear. Night vision goggles work by compressing the infrared waves to fall into the spectrum that we can see, allowing us to see heat energy. Many animals have more sensitive sensory systems than humans. The eye is our main device for bringing in vision.
