NROC64H3 Lecture Notes - Lecture 5: Biceps, Alpha Motor Neuron, Triceps Brachii Muscle
Document Summary
Lecture 5: these types of muscles can be conceptualized to weather the way that they rotate, the bones or other effectors like rotating eyes around some kind of a joint. Could be either in the way they flex or extensors. Ex- the biceps brachii would be a flexor the triceps brachii is the extensor for example. This pair of muscles when you look at them together can be called antagonist. They operate opposite to one and other: there is another concept antagonist versus synergist. There is a bunch of other muscles like the biceps brachi that also flex the elbow. So for example the brachialis is one that works in a similar way as the biceps its self. Then you get this pretty high frequency signal. We record it to, as potential sources of artifacts of egg. The activity of electrodes from the muscles catch whether there is activity coming from the muscles to move there arms.
