Document Summary

We also have layers underneath the unconsciousness that are things we do not necessarily perceive but still make up our personality, and psychology: the top of the picture is intended to represent a eyeball. What we can see is our perceptional consciousness. And deep down in our unconscious realm: we have this structure of what freud called the id, ego and super-ego. The id exists in the realm of the unconscious which is also the realm of the repressed. The ego and super ego kind of move in between the unconscious and pre- conscious and into our awareness. There is a sense of internalize authority that tries to supress those relentless drives to manifest the pleasure principle. Internalized authority in terms of the expectations put upon us by society, culture etc. Its also viewed as the internalization of the voice as the our father who is the seniority figure or any parental caregiver is the most uncompromising authority figure.
