Document Summary

Lecture 2- marxist analysis: marx"s was working during the industrial evolution at the beginning and mechanization, automation, factory work as we know it. What do you do to get your income: we all do all sorts of things. In this question being, doing and working are all brought together as if they were the same thing. As that same thing they all represent the fundamental definition of what it is to be a person: for marixian thinkers this is horrifying because all of those other aspects of humanity are then minimized or erased. We are solely considered by the labour that we do, i. e. the profit we generate, usually for others. In what ways are those ideals serve to further perpetuate and support, what marxian would say are unjust, suppressive, economic systems. Who ever controls the money dominates intellectually, dominates the whole of ideas: base is our economic world. The mode of production is the base which determines our thoughts.
