The ability to perceive social, political and economic oppression, and to take action against the oppressive structure/elements of society. Health promotion is very concerned with this. A course of action or inaction, chosen by public authorities to address a given problem or interrelated set of problems. A subset of public policy;focuses on addressing various health-related issues. Could be a private or public policies. Explicit concern for health and equity in all areas of policy and by an accountability for health impact.
