Egyptian gods had symbols/objects on their heads to remember/identify who they are (ex iris=chair (throne)) Both goddess and the idea that in order for the universe to continue, divine order and balance must be maintained. Buried in a wooden coffin by seth (brother) Iris finds him and hides the coffin in the desert. Seth finds it and dismembers osiris and spreads the pieces of his body across the land. Explains the rise of the god of the dad. Signifies fertility and regeneration mummy=death and the underworld. Isis, wife/sister, has a throne on her head to signify the power of the pharaoh. God of deserts, storms, foreigners, and chaos nephthys= seth"s wife/sister. Seth punched his way out of his mother"s womb. Could be identified as the trickster god of egypt. Essentially, seth is jealous of his brother and wants the throne so he gets 72 conspirators to help him. Seth had a banquet and they all got drunk.
