The first and second wave feminism: first wave (1850"s-1920)-fighting for women suffrage, second wave(1960"s-1970"s)-political, taking the hidden domestic spheres out into the public, even though women were citizens, they were not full citizens culturally. Proletariat: radical feminism-creating autonomous spaces for women, separate from patriarchal demands, multiracial feminism; intersectionality, black feminist felt excluded from social justice movements at this time, postcolonial feminism, postmodern feminism. Marxist/socialist feminism: focuses on the problem of capitalist economic system based on gender and class exploitation, critiques of capital.
