Functionalism: micro small scale interaction, macro large scale interaction, this is macro, governed by stable patterns of social relations and are based mainly on shared values, why does everyone know right from wrong mostly and how/why does society work this way, society more or less operates and functions in this way, shared values, mostly agreeing on right from wrong, structure maintain or undermine social order, as long as all structures work okay there is no problem and there is equilibrium, best way to solve social problems is to reestablish equilibrium. Dysfunctions of sports: hostility, match fixing, cheating/gambling, drugs to enhance performance, most people watch and don"t play, so aren"t really being active, stressful expectations, riots due to outcome.
