There are many examples of binary things, like sex and gender. For sociologists, those binary things could have broader meanings than just two. The social construction of gender: sociologists vies gender as social construction, example: cheerleading, in the early 20 century, cheerleading was a male-dominated activities. Boys who did cheerleading would have a sort of status on campus with many privileges. The participation of cheerleading even influenced their future career"s reputation positively: when the concept of feminism was developed around the world, females tried to participate into the cheerleading. Gradually, having women in cheerleading made feminists to think that it was a feminine-dominated activities: the trend of women cheerleading lasts for a long time. Now, people even felt wired if a man participates into cheerleading. Leaning gender- gender socialization happens through interaction: as a social construction, gender is not an instinct of baby.
