Higher education and higher income = less religiosity. Increase in personal wealth, education, general level of daily comfort = less religiosity. Fewer insecurities in your life means you don"t need religion as a psychological coping mechanism. High religiosity = poorer countries bc they need religion as coping mechanism. Conservative reaction against globalization, modernization, geopolitical circumstances. All the major world religions have fundamentalists sects. Theory that wordly institutions break off from the institutions of religion over time.
