Ethnicity is used to distinguish people in terms of one or more cultural markers. The cultural markers are made to be seen as socially significant. Ethnic groups differ in terms of language, relation, customs, values, ancestors, and more. However, cultural differences are not singularly the major cause of differences between groups. When we put these two together, we get inflation. Or, a mixture of ideas that flow together. These ideas need to be operationalized (cid:894)(cid:862)put i(cid:374)to use(cid:863)(cid:895) in order to be studied. Peter sandiford of u of t constructed iq tests in the 1920s and supposedly found that certain groups were more intelligent than others.
