Self-awareness - a social structure which arises through social experience (mead, lewis): existential aspect the feeling that you exist and that you are distinct & exist separately. You are going to remain forever (you will wake up tomorrow: categorical aspects children"s abilities to define themselves in terms of objective categories (age, sex, size, etc) & personality: ideal self: the type of person we want to be. They are personal & subjective & cultural: true self: objective self. How good are you in sports, & then you gage what that is: self-concept is always stable and changes in relation due to social experiences. These experiences are able to change how we think about ourselves. Self-esteem - an individual"s feelings of his/her own worthiness and competence: global value of ourselves.
