Document Summary

How does science work: propose a theory relating to a particular topic make predictions based on that theory . Conduct a study to test your theory gather all the data measured and figure out if it supports the theory or if it does not, revise the original theory and test it again. What makes a good theory: falsifiability a good theory can be proven wrong. If you cannot prove your theory wrong, over and over again, you can claim that you can trust your theory. When it is impossible to disprove a theory, your theory is not a good one and needs to be revised: parsimonious a good theory should be simple. Not proven but a well- supported theory. What makes a good prediction: good predictions are observable. Some things are difficult to study so this needs to be taken into account when making predictions: good predictions are unique to the theory.
