Utilitarianism: consequentialism: produces best overall results, welfarism: produces greatest overall net value. Welfarism well-being is the only thing that is intrinsically valuable. Utilitarianism: produces best overall result, overall result does more to improve overall net well being, consider all options, for each option weight the good and bad, choose the action that produces overall net well being. Arguments for utilitarianism (being true: morality is prescriptive, morality is impartial, killing for sport is immoral (no wellbeing), helping the poor is moral, morality is flexible, the moral community includes animals, conclusion: therefore, utilitarianism is true. From the moral pint of view all lives matter and none more than another (equality) Utilitarianism says to weigh the good and bad consequences for all lives effected: not just your life, your family, country. The partiality of morality: one ought to care more about close ones than strangers , owing loyalty to friends instead of strangers.
