After florence was re established, machiavelli got hired in florence. He was a foreign affairs officer, his missions consisted of him going overseas. These missions allowed for him to see contemporary politics first hand. Machiavelli got kicked out of politics because of a conspiracy put against him. He spent the rest of his life very angry and bitter, farming and writing. He wrote the prince in this context, in order to show his political value. He said he is doing something new, but people are not usually accepting of new. He"s (cid:374)ot doi(cid:374)g so(cid:373)ethi(cid:374)g (cid:374)e(cid:449) fir the sake of it, (cid:271)ut he sa(cid:455)s he is doing it because it will be beneficial, it will help others and help a new prince.
