When conjugating, a change to the second-last -e or - (acheter / esp rer) is made in forms with silent endings; no change is made in forms with pronounced endings. Ie. the infinitive has a pronounced ending (acheter), as do the nous and vous forms of the present (levons, pr f rez), the past participle (r p t ), and all forms of the imperfect (esp raient), which we will study later this month.
