Gave birth to twins, romulus and remus. Wolf succled them, until shepard found them. City of rome, basic symbol of rome. She-wolf, remains to this day, still a symbol of rome. Famous depiction of romulus and remus in bronze. Originally dated as etruscan 500 bce, but recent examinations show it may have been medieval, 13th century. So symbolic of ancient city, but may be much more modern. Late 2nd c. to early 1st c bce.
