Document Summary

Gcm: are computer generated climate models, they"re 3d. Set up the model based on how you think the climate work (land, vegetation, altitude, cloud cover, water) This is used to predict future climate models and to see what would happen if we manipulated the variables (run different scenarios to know the result if it were to be) There are sources of uncertainty however; scientists are working to improve them though. 1 problem of weakness is the short time length in the instrumental record. There are computer limitations; they take a long time to run, but this is no longer an issue. The ipcc (intergovernmental panel on climatic change) summarizes evidence of climate change and predicts future impacts. Trends in surface temperature, precipitation patterns, snow and ice cover, sea levels, storm intensity and other factors. The ipcc is set up by united nations and they"ve been tasked with updating the world with reports about climate change.
