To figure out their jurisdiction we need to figure this out ^ Most scientists define themselves as environmentalist. Ecuador - re- wrote their constitution, and gave the environment constitutional standing. Mother nature is a entity. Bill c- 38 fisheries act, gutted by harper government. Anything that effects the environment has stakeholders. A lot of people need to be involved in policy. There is always conflict that is artificially pumped in the media. Forest fire - related to fire suppression policy. Environmental science explores interactions between humans and the physical and biological world. Encompasses the biogeochemical- physical system in which people and other organisms exist. Dynamic interrelationships among organisms (including people) and their surroundings (physical, chemical, biological, geological, social/cultural) Basically the environment covers everything and anything. Environmental issues are inherently interdisciplinary.
