Document Summary

Who is talking greatly shapes the narrative itself. The narrator is a character in the narrative and should not be confused with the author. The author and the narrator could have a completely different values. This is used when the narrator is telling a story about themselves. This is a less common type of narrative where the narrator tells the narratee"s story. This is a very common type of narration. Used when the story is being told about someone who isn"t the storyteller. Uses words like he, she and they . First person: i walked into the room and sat down. Second person: you walked into the room and sat down. Third person: she walked into the room and sat down. The story world is different from the real world. The story world can be realistic but is much simpler than the messy realities of real life.
