Packet switched - when you cut up data into small packets and send it across the network, imps determine whether to pass data along on which pathway. Tcp/ip - transfer control protocol, internet protocol - the basic part of protocol stat - not proprietary (in the public domain) Bbs and usenet (not really needed to know, not on exam) Dns - domain name server - e. g. google. com like a phonebook of the internet - type in the name and computer would connect to the ip address. Mobile - transports us somewhere - phone (knowing whats going on in syria), movement. Mobile vulgus - mobile - changeable, vulgus - common people. Car phone - had a base, had a handheld part with the wire thing in the car.
