ANT306H5 Lecture Notes - Lecture 4: Reflectance, Ground-Penetrating Radar, Global Positioning System
Document Summary
Can determine shape and texture associated with object. Active light scanner laser is projected on mirror and rotates in 360 degrees but for the base and 180 degrees horizontally: blindspot on interface screen, battery, and base. Different laser scanners use time of flight sending different pulses to the object to determine the distance between the scanner and the object d=c*t*1/2 (total time = t speed of light = c) Water will reflect back and appear black. Works in line of sight fashion so anything blocking the camera will leave black spread. Gps: satellite-based navigation, coordinates, helps with registration based on triangulation, outdoor scenes, not accurate for mapping, total station doesn"t have this. Altimeter: shows difference in elevation, mountains, underground tunnels. Inclinometer: corrects for tilting based on gravity, +/- 5 degrees, upside-down scanning. Different exposure settings: horizon weighted use this, even-weighted, zenith weighted used to balance the sky so may make things too dark.
