What looking at sexual patterns in humans before our time, we usually look at the closest species to us, which in this case is chimpanzees. Longer time to male orgasm (prolonged in comparison with other mammals and primates) Potential for female orgasm: what is the adaptive value of females reaching orgasm. Other suggests it has more of an emotional interplay, to bond with their males and prevent male copulation. Mutual interest in intercourse throughout ovulatory cycle. Human (cid:532)hypersexuality(cid:533) = sexualization of human behavior and anatomy. Both sexes have a heightened sexual drive (outside of reproduction) Extends sex beyond reproductive value to variations in fetishism, & long term homosexual relationships.
