Dynamic characters change (for better or worse) in response to circumstance and experience. Protagonist is the main character (the central or primary figure) of a narrative. The protagonist is often in primary conflict with another character. Antagonist is the character pitted against the protagonist. An evil or cruel antagonist is a villain; however, an antagonist is not necessarily a villain.
