Trauma & stressor related disorders: different feelings associated with ptsd fear, anger, stress etc. First, there needs to be a traumatic event. Then symptoms in all 4 of the categories. Cancer diagnoses of family member doesn"t count as ptsd: experiencing repeated or extreme exposure to aversive details of the traumatic event. First responders: has to be going on for more than a month, can"t be explained by anything else, significant distress/impairment associated with the trauma. One or more of the following intrusion symptoms: recurrent, involuntary, distressing memories, recurrent distressing dreams, dissociative reactions (flashbacks, intense or prolonged psychological distress when reminded of the trauma.
