Towards the development of the mental and behavioural diagnostic guidelines for the icd-11. Need classification manual so we can have standardized diagnostic criteria and collection of morbidity and mortality statistics. Icd is used across the world and must be up to date: last revision was in 1992, changes reflect new knowledge in treatment and diagnosis, societal factors, revision ensures accuracy of diagnoses. Revision starts with literature review since last revision: development of new guidelines, testing new guidelines is her research. Hypothesis is that icd11 will answer yes to each of these questions: mental health professionals from across the world will assess these criteria through survey. Diverse sample required because of the cultural and ethnical differences in mental health disorders. Purpose of study is to analyze responses and feedback of study to inform further revision of guidelines. Next steps are implementation studies in real clinical settings. The roles of implicit and explicit fears of negative and positive evaluation in social anxiety.
