Baby might not be able to differentiate that the bowl and plate are separate. Sometimes can approach seeing the world as a snapshot, but we often move around and see things in different perspectives (e. g. illusion video) Perception is an activity: not just soaking in the world. Motor development and perceptual development are linked. Cats deprived of sensory stimuli (in the dark) Active kittens developed normally overall (able to walk around) depth perception. Passive kittens did not (they were moved in a cart ) lacked depth perception. E. g. depth perception on visual cliff o: relationship between perceptual and o motor development, locomotion important.
