Physical development: motor skills, brain development and growth. Pretend to drop baby (lose stability of head)--will open up legs and arms as if to grab onto something. Will also show this reflex for loud noises. Turn heal while awake on back, one arm goes up and tenses. Disappears after a while unless you put legs in water or take weight off legs e. g. put them on a treadmill. Stoke foot from toe to heel, toes fan out and curl. These reflexes disappear within the first few months. Some reflexes are evident at birth but disappear by age one. Conge by 3-4 months, used to cling to mother. None-could be sign of brain damage and if stays past 6-7 months, concern. Behaviours that don"t require specific external stimulation and are more adaptable than simple reflexes. Looking: engage in examining surroundings even when they are not externally stimulated.
