Document Summary
Molecular geneics researchers who are going to idenify the genes that are linked with a disease, characterisic or trait. For example, the prof"s family has a strong geneic disorder on her father"s side of heart disease. Only one of her cousins and her daughter doesn"t have this geneic disorder. Researchers would compare the dna of her family members and her cousin and daughter to igure out what gene is causing the disorder. Relevance to psy- they want to know what genes are involved. Promises prevenion of geneic disorder, beter treatment. Danger- aborion (baby doesn"t have prefect dna) employment (the applicant doesn"t have prefect dna or has a gene that is atached with disease) Baby is sill vulnerable in the womb, babies born with defects (see chapter 5) Even though twins share the same womb, they don"t share the same pre-natal environment. One twin may get more nutrients or oxygen than the other.
