Document Summary

Inductive fallacies are based on inductive reasoning. Overestimating the strength on the basis of an inadequate sound. Attempting to make a generalization from too few cases. The smallest sample size - a story from one person. Very small sample size to make a general statement. The level of hastyness depends on the subject of the generalization. The subject may be more or less diverse. Sample group has some feature that makes it exceptional and different from the rest of the population. Example: rats will live longer if they are on a calorie restricted diet. This has been shown in the study of rats. When you apply a general rule to a specific case that is an exception. Example of a general rule: you should return people"s property to the people who lost it. But not if its the armed burglar that forgot something in your house. But in this instance, the general rule does not apply.
